It was difficult waking up this morning to trek in the cold, cloudy weather to Roxbury, but it was all worth it once we stepped through the doors into Rosie's Place. Rosie's Place is a sanctuary for poor and homeless women; the volunteers and staff there provide the women and their children with food, clothing, and long term assistance.
The girls of LKS helped set up chairs and tables and prepare food for the women who came in that day. There was certainly a lot to do, but the liveliness in the kitchen from all the volunteers created a productive and spirited environment. From 10:30 am until late afternoon, the women at Rosie's place were safe, healthy, and happy!
After a long and tiring morning staring at food, we went to get some lunch ourselves at flour :)
